Brazing Joints production DIN 8505 Part 3

DIN 8505 Part 3 Brazing is a thermal joining and surfacing process using brazing solders with a liquidus temperature (melting temperature) above 450 °C.

Brazing is normally carried out using fluxes in powder, paste or liquid form which is applied at the relevant points.

The strength of brazed joints depends primarily on the design being appropriate to brazing and on the brazing process used. In many cases the brazed joint is as strong as the parent metals.

The brazing in accordance with this Company Standard is carried out by means of the following processes:

- Flame brazing

- Furnace brazing with flux

- Furnace brazing in reducing shielding gas

- Furnace brazing in inert shielding gas

- Furnace brazing in vacuum
