SAE J515 standard has a O-ring test requirements quality assurance including inspection and rejection, Quality Acceptance Criteria, Supplier Inspection Limits and Certification of Quality.
Inspection and Rejection—While samples may be taken from incoming shipments and checked for conformance to the requirements of this document by the buyer, the supplier shall accept the responsibility of making shipments which meet the appropriate specification limits. Shipments may be rejected if they do not meet specifications.
Quality Acceptance Criteria—Surface imperfections shall meet the requirements outlined in ISO 3601 -3 for offset, combined flash, offset and parting line projection, backrind, trimming, flow marks, non-fills, and indentations.
Supplier Inspection Limits—Inspection limits that fall within the general specification limits for SAE J51 5 O-rings may be established for individual compounds approved under this document. Shipments may be rejected if they do not meet these supplier inspection limits.
Certification of Quality—Individual companies may establish certification requirements for O-rings manufactured from SAE J51 5 materials.
