The SAE J514 JIC connectors shall be suitable for use with tubes with limits of outside diameter as given. These limits include ovality.
Metric tubing shall be preferred. Tubing shall comply with the relevant dimensions given in Tables 2 or 3. Carbon steel tubes shall, except for dimensions of inch tubes, comply with delivery condition R37 NBK as specified in ISO 3304 (seamless cold-finished as-drawn or annealed or normalized) or ISO 3305 (welded cold-finished as-drawn or annealed or normalized).
Stainless steel tubes shall, except for dimensions of inch tubes, comply with ISO 1127 (cold drawn and annealed or normalized).
