SAE J517 100R14 covers hose for use with petroleum base and synthetic base hydraulic fluids within a temperature range of –54 to +204°C, and with water base hydraulic fluids within the temperature ranges agreed upon by the manufacturers of both the hose and the fluid. Operating temperatures in excess of +204°C with petroleum base hydraulic fluids may materially reduce the life of the hose. Maximum working pressure, minimum bend radius and other performance data are specified in Table 23. This does not exclude utilization of the hose in a multiplicity of applications for which PTFE is suitable. For such applications consult the manufacturer.
